All the Grahas are a constitution of five elements or the Pancha Tatva…! Here are the Tatva or Elements of Grahas….!

Agni or Fire – Surya – Mangal
Jal or Water – Chandra – Shukra
Vaayu – Shani
Prithvi – Budha
Akash or Space – Guru – Rahu – Ketu

There is curiosity about the Strongest of the Graha amongst the Nava Graha….! From Puranas to Mythology n-number of things are written on these subjects…! Believer or followers of each Graha tried to justify how the Graha which they worship is the best and the strongest amongst all the Grahas…!

We can Say Surya is the King of the Galaxy and all other Grahas are part and Parcel of Surya only, as they were born out of Surya only at the time of Creation…! This is a very valid point and all the Grahas are having some or the other quality of Surya in them. Surya himself is having aggression of Mars, beauty of Shukra, Wisdom of Guru and so on…! So Surya is the Strongest Graha statement has some solid weightage to it…!

Chandra is the Graha of immense importance in Vedic Astrology as all the Jyotish revolves only around Chandra. The western astrology is as per Surya and it fails to give results about many specific issues in predictions…! Chandra is the fastest moving Graha and within 27 days he completes the 12 Rashis, 27 Nakshatras, 108 Nakshatra Padas and 360 degree of cosmos…! Without Chandra the calculations of Jyotish will have no meaning. So Chandra is the strongest amongst all the Nava Grahas is a Practical Statement….!

The same kind of churning or discussions were happening in the Court of King Vikramaditya when he laughed about the Supremacy of Shani Dev and faced a rigorous Sade Sati which showed him the true colors of life…!

So we can say that amongst all the Graha Shani is the Strongest as He is the Judge, the reformer and punishes people when they disrespect the grace of god, when people fly a few feet high above ground and feels that they have achieved a lot with their own smartness and hard work, disrespect elders, society and money, then Shani Dev comes into their life and their feet touches the ground. Without Shani there will be no balancing of Strength and the stronger will butcher the weaker in the society…! Hence Shani is the best and strongest Graha in the Nava Graha…!

Mangal is the very force of life…! The energy and strength with which I am writing or you are reading this post is just Mangal. Mangal makes you active; Mangal gives the force to body cells for functioning. Hence without Mangal, the very existence of Life is only in question…! So we can say that Mangal is the Strongest Graha of all…!
Budha is the Brain…! Without Budha speech, senses, wit, humor everything is meaningless. Budha is the acquisition of Knowledge. Without Budha, the Physical Life will be of no use. All the objects, subjects are of zero importance….! Hence Budha is of prime importance as it gives us the Brains to live happily on this Graha Prithvi…! So here we can say that Budha is the Strongest of all the Grahas.

Guru is the wisdom, the flesh, the fat and the piousness of soul. Guru tells us what is good and what is bad. Without the sense of judging good and bad, man will be like an animal. Only Guru makes this differentiation in Humans and the rest of the living species on the Earth…! So without Guru there is no use of Human Lives…! Even the Gods surrenders to the Guru and hence we can Say that Guru is the Strongest of all the Grahas…!

Shukra is the beauty in all forms. Without Shukra the world will look a horrible place to live and life will have no hope. Shukra is the pleasures of all sorts, Shukra is a complete Bhogi and even Gods are keen to come on Earth for all the Pleasures of Shukra. Shukra makes a life worth of living. Shukra gives relationships, wealth and happiness hence Shukra is the best of the Graha in all the Nava Grahas…!

So there is no conclusion yet, which Graha is the strongest of all? The question remains the same…!

Ok lets understand about the Rahu and Ketu and then we will see whether we are getting the answer or not…!

Ketu is the Descending Lunar Node or Ketu is a point of intersection of Surya and Chandra’s orbits over the axis of Earth. It is a Mathematic point for calculations and it has tremendous impact like any Graha on the Earth…! The Shastras described it as a Body without head. Ketu can see so headless attitude. Ketu has bodily strength but no direction, as the head is not there. Hence Ketu acts with the support of Graha with which he is placed in any Kundali. Ketu gives immense Strength to such Grahas and the person excels into the significance of the said Graha. So company of Ketu to any Graha will increase his results many fold and hence Ketu can be considered the greatest of all the Graha.

Rahu is the Head without body….! It is the Ascending Lunar Node…! Now Rahu has strongest of Brains, eyes, speech, ears, nose but no body to act…..! So this body less Rahu has only his brains and speech to express. He also needs a body of other Graha to act in a physical manner. So whichever Graha is placed with Rahu in the Kundali, behaves under Rahu’s Brain. Rahu becomes the Director and the Other Graha acts as per Instructions of Rahu. If there are no Graha with Rahu then only brain and speech are used to enhance or reduce the effects of the said House of the Kundali…! Rahu is an out caste Graha and he is comfortable with people other than your own community, i.e. Foreign People or elements…! So Rahu is a great Graha in terms of venturing into new lands, new sciences or streams of knowledge and is rebellious. For every aspect of life, Rahu has his own views and those are always rule and tradition breaking….! Hence we can say Rahu is the Greatest of all Graha as his sheer presence creates turbulence in the concerned House or in the significations of Graha…!

Budha is Four times Stronger than Mangal / Ketu

Guru is Eight times Stronger than Budha

Shukra is Eight times stronger than Guru

Rahu is Two times stronger than the Surya

So the ascending order of strength for Grahas is

Shani – Mangal (Ketu)– Budha – Guru – Shukra – Chandra – Surya – Rahu
